This post is for Woaden, poster in the priest forums on worldofwarcraft.com. I hope this finds you well.

I wanted to thank you for your efforts toward educating the priest community on the aforementioned forums. As for me, I am an ex-priest no longer playing (hence my reply on these forums). If you're wondering why I'm posting, well, when you go cold turkey on a 20 hour a week habit, you have some time to kill.

I appreciated your efforts toward discussing BiS setups, but found that the lack of responses was basically criminal. I wanted to offer my two cents in hopes of providing you a fraction of what you provide the community there.

Regarding the Holy setup - Though you are haste capped, you would do well to take the Corpse277 wand because you would be granted the freedom to achieve a few socket bonuses. Take an over-simplified example (this is not what I would suggest to you as BiS, however). Socket a 10haste/10spir gem in your legs, neck, and bracer. This, with the wand change, leaves you with the exact same statistics - except for an additional 17 spellpower.

Given the extra haste, I'd recommend dumping the wand and nightmare tear and do the following with gems:

10haste/10spir in helm
12spellpower/10haste in weapon (assuming socket bonus is 5 spellpower)
10haste/10spir in legs
12spellpower/10haste in robe
10haste/10spir in robe

The end result of which is (before talents, buffs, etc.):
-10 str
-10 agi
-10 sta
-10 int
-10 spi
+45 spellpower!

A change I believe you would make. If you're wary of the regen tradeoff, you can gem to achieve:

-10 str
-10 agi
-10 sta
-10 int
+34 spellpower

My father was in the Air Force (and so is the BF) and is a huge WWII buff, which is the only reason I got it. (I became interested in it by default) Surprised
