A. Your Toon
Wickie
1. Armory Link:
http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Gilneas&cn=Wickie

2. What is your primary spec?

Resto

3. Can you play a second and/or third spec at a high level? If so, what is your gear level for these specs?

My secondary spec is Balance. I have a mix of 264/277 gear for this spec with trinkets that need upgrading. Here is a log of me as balance during HM LK attempts. http://www.worldoflogs.com/reports/k2xu9gxjintcpiib/sum/damageDone/?s=469&e=635

4. Do you have any alts that you are willing and able to play at a very high level for progression? If so, link their armories and let us know the specs you have mastered.

I have a ret/prot pally. Prot was actually my main spec and I have tanked all of icc but I wanted to do the Shadowmourne quest so I started to ret and have been doing that mostly now since people don't like tanks gathering shards.

I also have a marks hunter...

4a. If you do not currently have two raiding professions, are you prepared to respec your gathering profession if you are given a trial?

I am an enchanter and scribe. I would have no issues with changing the scribe but enchanting is here to stay because I have been a bit OSD with my recipe collection. Obviously this isn't an issue since I do not have gathering professions.

B. Game History
1. How long have you been playing? How many long breaks have you taken and why?

I started playing WoW during beta and continued upon release. I played up to level 60 but it quickly lost it's luster due to lack of content. I quit playing before any raid content was released because I went onto other games such as EQ2, CoH, CoV and probably a few others. I came back to WoW right before BC was released. I raided most of BC as Balance spec and ended through MH, BT and SWP as resto. I did not take any breaks until we were working on HMs in Ulduar and I stopped playing because we bought a house and were moving across town and got caught up in rl for a while. I came back during icc before we started getting HMs down and now we are working on HLK.

2. What are the two most recent progression guilds you have been in? Why have you left them or are considering leaving them?

I have been with Storm through most of BC and all of Wrath. The only reason I am considering leaving is because I have always been on an eastern server and we start to raid at 4:00 pst. My son is getting older and I really need to be more available for him to drive him around to hockey and anything else he may want to do. Starting to raid at 7:00 would be a much better fit for me.

C. Theorycraft
1. Link your most impressive combat log parses. How did you maximize your performance on these fights? Note that if you are a DPSer without any ranked parses, you are very unlikely to be considered.

http://www.worldoflogs.com/reports/diyaf7csu04pp006/sum/healingDone/?s=12540&e=12798

2. Link a screen shot of your UI with keybindings highly visible. How have you set up your UI to maximize your performance in raids?

https://img.photobucket.com/albums/v358/mpgstevens/WoW/WoWScrnShot_082810_215720.jpg

I use power auras for most fights that require special attention to boss abilities for example, unchained magic. As far as keybindings go, being a healer I don't use many macros/keybindings because all of my spells are set to their own click on my 5 button mouse. I use a combination of alt, shift and control clicks giving me 20 combinations on my mouse using mouse over clicks including cyclone, root, battle rezz, etc. I do have additional macros for focus target for hibernate, cyclone and root assuming I have a constant target I need to keep controlled.

3. How do you set yourself apart from other players of your class? Give us a detailed answer that shows us you truly understand the nuances of your class.

In comparision to other resto druids I have seen, I notice they tend to just "blanket" the raid with no rhyme or reason. I however cast heals based on damage that hasn't happened according to my raiddebuff addon that I have on my grid. I have a priority to healing rather than just going down the line. I also utilize all of my spells/skills such as barkskin to both minimize damage as well as to help channel for the occasional tranquility. I use a catform/sprint macro to get out of a sticky situation quickly or to avoid dropping a bad defile as an example. I use natures swiftness/healing touch which I am spec'ed into to because I feel an additional 40% instant cast HT onto a tank that is about to eat dirt is worth the extra points. I have seen many druids not even buy NS because they simply just don't bother with it. Those are just a few examples of how I feel I know my class inside and out.

D. Your Technical Specs
1. What kind of internet connection do you have? (DSL, cable, etc.)

I have cable internet.

2. How stable is your internet connection?

Very, I can't even remember the last time I got disconnected.
Wickie, Restoration Druid 932049889

3. How stable is your computer?

It get's the job done and I keep it clean and running smoothly.

4. What kind of ping and FPS do you get in a 25man raid environment?

I normally run around 20 fps in a full raid when there is plenty of AE to be had.

E. About You
1. Have you read the "About You" section in “About Zephyr: Part 1?” And are you able to meet most of the criteria? If not, why?

Yes, I have no issues with anything I've read.

1a. Do you meet any of the "Bonus Criteria" from "Applications: Part 1?"

I guess I could claim raid leader experience from running pugs but that is about it. I have many alts that I enjoy gearing up and making successful raids is part of doing that.

2. Name

My name is Pauline, nice to meet all of you!

3. Age, Location, & R/L Occupation:

I am 30 years old. I live in Las Vegas, NV and I am a housewife mostly but do auto transcriptions from home very part time.

4. Describe the last 2 times you screwed up in a raid, or played at a noticeably suboptimal level. How frequently do events like this occur?

I guess the best I can recall would be eating a ghost on Lady D. I am normally very good about those types of things but I just screwed the pooch on that one. If I had to pick another, I would have to guess maybe a goo on putricide but honestly, I like to think I have very sharp raid awareness and I run my own fail mode so I can keep track of things that maybe would have gone unnoticed so I like to keep an eye on my overall performance.

5. When and how often would you miss scheduled raid time? What is your availability outside of our 25man raid hours?

I can be on almost anytime. As of lately I haven't spent as much time online just because I tend to have planned online raids and I log on for them and then I am out of raid saves. However, since I would be moving to a new server, I am sure I will be spending a lot more time online in between raids since I won't have anything already scheduled.

6. Give us a brief introduction to yourself.

As I said before, my name is Pauline and I have been playing MMO's since 1999. I started my addiction with Everquest and played a druid there for a good 5 years. I broke away from EQ when I got into the WoW beta and that saved me from the Evercrack. I have played many mmo's since then but I would have to say that EQ and WoW have been my true loves.

I have been married for 11 years and we have a son named Gavin who is about to turn 10. My husband, Mat, also plays WoW however he has never had the same hardcore drive I have. I guess I can blame Everquest for that, any version of hardcore Wow is nothing in comparision.

Thank you for your time and consideration and I hope to hear from you soon.

Very strong application.

I'm sure you are used to playing with a majority male raid roster and all the lolz in vent?

Yes Purrs, just to give you an idea, my current GM likes to call everyone cunts on a regular basis. I am not easily offended and I am very laid back.

Quick update because I am going to be doing HLK 10 attempts all day as Balance so in case my armory is not cached properly I'll just give you a run down of my gear. I am full BiS with the exception of needing three 277 tokens. I use double solace and 277 trauma (I had taken my break from WoW right after I started gathering frags and when I came back my guild was very, very anti Ulduar).

Kenshone(GM) is currently out of town this weekend, so he should be able to give you a reply and ask you any questions he may have in the next 24 hours.

Do you raid without revitalize? If so, can you explain your reasoning behind it? Other then that, the app is really good overall.

With my guilds current setup we have been very heavy on trees that are spec'd into it and I am always the go 2 tree for cc for hibernates and cyclones so I am spec'd into Nature's Reach. I have no issues with dropping 1 of those points as well as 2 points from Nature's Bounty and spec into Revitalize. In all honesty, my spec really didn't make a difference since everything except LK is on farm and I end up boomkining for LK anyways since my guild doesn't use trees much for our attempts. I will make the changes, thanks!

I had every enchanting recipe in the game save 2 Ulduar ones when I dropped enchanting for BS.

I regret dropping it every time I log in.

I have an updated log for our HLK attempts we did tonight with me actually healing instead of dpsing. My numbers are not that impressive, I attribute that to the fact that during the first phase the disc priests really dominate and most of my healing is from rolling hots on the tanks and the occasional invest that may have been missed. We did 11 attempts tonight. This was our longest one, my numbers are a bit better because we were finally getting to the point where my heals were more effective. Now if only we could get to the sword room I am sure that is where I would shine. As for all of the attempts you can see that all of my deaths were after the wipe was called due to losing the MT.

http://www.worldoflogs.com/reports/gk7j5wi6bczj26r5/sum/healingDone/?s=5755&e=6038

I never get hit by shadow traps. I always get the plague to the horrors. I move when a raging spawns from me and I stay spread. I never drop defile in the lane, you tell me where you want it and I will watch those timers and make sure I get it there. I have invest showing on my grid so I always heal the people who actually need it.

I promise I won't disappoint and hope to hear from you soon.
