I can play Unholy fairly well but I'd have to regem, possibly blood. I prefer not to tank, though.

4. Do you have any alts that you are willing and able to play at a very high level for progression? If so, link their armories and let us know the specs you have mastered.

I'd only be willing to play my paladin at a very high level of progression as holy, my lock does around 14k dps as Destro but, if it's what we needed I'm sure I could learn the more viable specs. I don't really play any of my other alts aside from my holy paladin, though.

4a. If you do not currently have two raiding professions, are you prepared to respec your gathering profession if you are given a trial?


I have engineering and Jewelcrafting which are both the best for DPS Death knights, so it wouldn't be needed.

B. Game History
1. How long have you been playing? How many long breaks have you taken and why?

I've taken 1 break which was around naxx time because I got bored, but I quickly came back. I started playing this game right as wrath came out, not long but I got hooked to raiding pretty quickly.

2. What are the two most recent progression guilds you have been in? Why have you left them or are considering leaving them?

Carebears - My first serious raiding guild, people stopped showing up days other than tuesday.

Solace - Lich King attempts went kind of like "Shadow Trap, Shadow Trap, Necrotic Plague Fail" And when we did get to p2, we could only hope at least 1 warlock was picked up. One raid leader (officer) and 3 core raiders left this week and I think it is the end for Solace.


C. Theorycraft
1. Link your most impressive combat log parses. How did you maximize your performance on these fights? Note that if you are a DPSer without any ranked parses, you are very unlikely to be considered.

Note : In none of these logs do I have an unholy DK in the raid which would have increased my DPS by a decent bit (30% Disease Dmg)

2. Link a screen shot of your UI with keybindings highly visible. How have you set up your UI to maximize your performance in raids?

I play on a laptop so my keybindings might seem odd to you. All of my attacks that I use are keybinded for easy access.



3. How do you set yourself apart from other players of your class? Give us a detailed answer that shows us you truly understand the nuances of your class.


If there is something suggested on a forum, I will regem and try it for myself, gold shouldn't be a setback for raiding. When I first heard ArP was better for frost I tried it for myself instead of waiting for confirmation.

1. What kind of internet connection do you have? (DSL, cable, etc.)

DSL

2. How stable is your internet connection?

I never disconnect, it is very stable.

3. How stable is your computer?

Some people would say a Laptop isn't stable for raiding, but I never have any problems with mine.

4. What kind of ping and FPS do you get in a 25man raid environment?

100 ms / 55 fps


E. About You
1. Have you read the "About You" section in “About Zephyr: Part 1?” And are you able to meet most of the criteria? If not, why?

Yes and Yes

1a. Do you meet any of the "Bonus Criteria" from "Applications: Part 1?"

I used to play Halo 3 Semi-Competitively, went to some MLG events. Other than that, no.

4. Describe the last 2 times you screwed up in a raid, or played at a noticeably suboptimal level. How frequently do events like this occur?

1) Stood in front of a shambler and died on transition because the tanks taunt off of each other and the shambler runs across the raid, kind of hard to avoid.

2) Died late in a Sindragosa (2 weeks ago~) because I didn't notice 2 healers were blocked and 1 was dead. (Melee stacks + aura)

I can assure you, these don't happen often.

5. When and how often would you miss scheduled raid time? What is your availability outside of our 25man raid hours?

I'm on from around 5:00 PM (CST) - 2:00 AM (CST)

6. Give us a brief introduction to yourself.

Well, I started playing guild wars when I was pretty young and around the time wrath came out i started playing because my brother had been playing since Pre-BC. I quickly got into raiding. I'd say I'm decently progressed for being in a guild that doesn't raid that much and when we do it wasn't very effective with officers trying to call the raid early etc., I believe I'd be a great fit for Zephyr and am looking forward to a response, thanks.

hey Obai, your gear/experience seems pretty good to me so far, I know you said you didn't get very far into phase 2, but can you tell me what you would prioritize doing in it as a frost dk? Also in this guild you understand as plate we will and always will get last priority on leather items i.e Aldriana's gloves of secrecy as frost. Other then that everything looks pretty in order to me

Can you give us a brief overview of how you would maximize your dps on any given fight.

Lets use Heroic Lich King(High Movement and Concentration) and Deathbringer Saurfang(Patchwerk style).


You have fairly consistent parses and appear to not die to things out of your control.

Not sure exactly how you all would do LK H, but in my old guild we had assigned targets for valks, I would Chains them, then burst them to 50% and if the others aren't at 50% yet I would swap targets. Prior to defile I'd seperate myself from the middle or any side valkyr's are likely to be going.

In phase 3 I DPS the raging left up and throw HB's at spirits in Portal Phase, I stack on the raid and dps the LK while there is a tank who soaks spirits. Prior to defile, I spread away from the raid, just like P2.

And that is the only piece of leather gear that I need, and I am okay with waiting.

On Saurfang I'd dps like usual and use saronite bombs to maximize my dps; I'd also try and time my diseases so I can get them on the beasts right as they come out for extra dps.

On Lich King heroic not dieing > All, but while dps'ing I'd try to keep my disease on both ragings or valkyrs along with the Lich King. I also time my cooldowns so I don't pop them right as defile is so I do not waste them. If cooldowns are needs on valkyrs, I pop them then.

In phase 3 I would cast HB on spirits inside the portal for extra dps on them.

What are things you do in your own time that help you become a better player?

Example would be during progression content and you die or you notice your damage seems below average on the encounter. What steps do you take to fix your mistakes?

How do you handle wiping and new content?

How do you and how well do you go about adapting to new stratagies from your old ones?

Whenever our resident DKs come on I'm sure they will have a question or 2 for you.

Your answer is a little bit lacking I feel. I used to play dw frost on HM LK during progression and I did things a bit differently in phase 2. I'll tell you there is no need to chains, we have paladins/rogues/ferals ready to handle that. However there are a few more things that you could do I feel that would improve your dps so what do you think you could change up to improve your dps on every target?

Do you click UA, FS, and your presences? The binds (or lack thereof) on those abilities make me weary. Death Coil too.

Well, I assume you're talking about valks for LK.
I guess I could prioritize KM HB over Obl for them to increase dmg on all of them. I'm not sure if DnD would be worth it, though.

FS is also bound to Mid. mouse key.
I don't click UA. As I said, I play on a laptop so = is very easy to reach.
f1=blood pres / f2 = frost pres / f3 = uh pres
And I don't use DC in my rotation but when i do, it's the same case as UA.

I don't DnD as frost either, I solely km hb and hb when I can as long as they are up and tried to save bombs for then too.

I don't think HB, if km isn't proc'd, would be worth it since i'm ArP stacking and it hits for significantly less than your's probably did assuming you Str stack.

Obai, in reality on lich king, all that matters is not wiping the raid.

I try my best not to do that on every fight, lol.
