A. Your Toon
1. Armory Link: http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Whisperwind&cn=Cottonm%C3%B5uth

^ main weapon is normal oathbinder not TF

2. What is your primary spec? MM

3. Can you play a second and/or third spec at a high level? If so, what is your gear level for these specs? Can play BM fine and had number 2 saurfang as BM for a while till I stopped playing it at like 5% (going BM = not tryin apparently)

4. Do you have any alts that you are willing and able to play at a very high level for progression? If so, link their armories and let us know the specs you have mastered.
I have a druid named cottonqt but not interested in transferring anytime soon

4a. If you do not currently have two raiding professions, are you prepared to respec your gathering profession if you are given a trial?
I have 2

B. Game History
1. How long have you been playing? How many long breaks have you taken and why? Have been playing since middle of BC and longest break I have taken is probably a week just because nothing else was going on.

2. What are the two most recent progression guilds you have been in? Why have you left them or are considering leaving them? I was in Internet bullies on garithos and ppl realized we were only still raiding cause we didn't want the guild to die. Was most recently in Obsolete on whisperwind and Wrath burnout made ppl want to find other things to do till Cata

C. Theorycraft
1. Link your most impressive combat log parses. How did you maximize your performance on these fights? Note that if you are a DPSer without any ranked parses, you are very unlikely to be considered.
http://worldoflogs.com/reports/ikjsngw813gqdrws/

Thats the most recent log I have of actually doing other bosses other than LK (I let new ppl raid in my place for rotting gear and experience)

2. Link a screen shot of your UI with keybindings highly visible. How have you set up your UI to maximize your performance in raids? http://illiweb.com/fa/pbucket.gif Not the best but I have no issues with it

3. How do you set yourself apart from other players of your class? Give us a detailed answer that shows us you truly understand the nuances of your class. I know how to tranq mobs and move out of things while still dpsing which seems to not be the case for a lot of hunters I have raided with inlcuding a couple of hunters who we recruited who didn't understand you need to stop dps for a second so ur talent procs don't set off ur MD u just put on the tank before the shambler is out

D. Your Technical Specs
1. What kind of internet connection do you have? (DSL, cable, etc.)
Cox Cable

2. How stable is your internet connection?
It's great

3. How stable is your computer?
Fine only issues I have had lately were from them moving the servers on my BG and they seem to be gone now

4. What kind of ping and FPS do you get in a 25man raid environment?
On my current server I have around 100-150 MS and 10 or so fps in raids considering it's a chicago server now I think. Playing on a pst server should help greatly

E. About You
1. Have you read the "About You" section in “About Zephyr: Part 1?” And are you able to meet most of the criteria? If not, why? Yep I get out of classes at 4:45 at the latest (mountain time) so I can make all times unless say huge project comes up that requires me to work with lab partners and such which I hope would be understandable (Idt I have ever had this happen though)

1a. Do you meet any of the "Bonus Criteria" from "Applications: Part 1?"
I played a 3s team up last season to 2550 before getting raped by wizard cleave teams but I did stop playing with my friend at around 2300 or so to let him try mancleave which only got up to 2400 until I came back and we pushed to 2550..I was dumb and left the team so I didn't get my duelist let alone being 50 points off glad=(

2. Name: Austin Rogers

3. Age, Location, & R/L Occupation: 19/Tempe, AZ/College at ASU

4. Describe the last 2 times you screwed up in a raid, or played at a noticeably suboptimal level. How frequently do events like this occur? I disengaged into a PP slime a long time ago and I right clicked a portal on dreamwalker like a champ like last month..neither caused wipes and in the case of dreamwalker I got a sexy dmg buff

5. When and how often would you miss scheduled raid time? What is your availability outside of our 25man raid hours? Shouldn't miss any expecially considering how little u raid now since of farm content and I'm normally on or playing BLC with friends who stopped till cata

6. Give us a brief introduction to yourself.

I'm Austin and I grew up in Texas but now go to ASU. ASU got rated number 1 party school for a few years and still is in the top and also got rated number 1 girls by playboy...whats not to like about ASU

Looks like you have 3 LK kills on this toon. How many pulls do you think you have done on LK, and can you give us a run down on the thing you emphasize / think about on that fight? How do you handle enrage dispels in p1 for a starter?

I would say near the 75-90 range of pulls and I was there for all of them. I generally solo hunter tranqd because other hunters were too dumb or just didn't show up which led to our offtank being on stun duty for the first shambler. I would stop dps about 1-2 seconds before the shambler showed up to get MD up and so my charge didn't start ticking until I hit the shambler then soon as I hit the shambler I put it on focus so it's easy as just targeting my focus and tranqing instantly (I switch before he starts casting so I can start mashing). Really the thing I try to do the best at is just defile just because of how easy somebody losing their mind for a second can cause a wipe (I have never caused wipes with defiles thank god). I'm also used to double huntering and getting first shambler if needed which just goes the same way as the other strat. Ty for questions and ask more if needed,

^ big wall of text

edit: I can't really find an answer to your loot system but I do see you are going to loot council in Cata so does that mean you don't use it now?

Change out your 2 of your Delicate Dragon's Eyes for Fractured. Socket your yellow where you gain agility. If there's 2 sockets that where one is blue ignore. Move your 10 stats gem to pants and gain that socket bonus now. It's better there instead of the chest if you use ~3 or so orange gems and at the arp cap. Substitute fractured for delicate or the other way around till your at 1395 arp and you should see an increase over your current setup.

We will never ask you to play BM. However survival may come up every once in awhile if we are missing replenishment. Would we be able to rely on you to play this at a high level? Whats the common rotation and how do you maximize your dps while playing this? In my opinion this spec is 100% harder to play at that next level beyond everyone else.

Describe your basic marksman play style.

Can you link parses of your LK kills if available. I can find out more of a player looking at those then any other fight in ICC. As impressive it is to set parses for rotface/festergut or any other fight in there for that matter LK gives me a true representation of the kind of damage and global usage we can expect from you when a fight matters.

What's a hunter's greatest weakness on LK? Strength?

Can you go over the fight briefly through each phase and how you handle each ability and phase?

http://worldoflogs.com/reports/e841wr1gcba77iww/sum/damageDone/?s=11923&e=13028

Theres our 2nd LK kill

I havn't played survival since ulduar but I'm sure I can play it fine given like a few minutes to get used to the rotation again since it's not lolMM or BM. Generally Start off by firing serpent sting, black arrow then hit explosive/aim while weaving in steady shots until explosive comes back up or aim shot and keeping black arrow and serpent sting up as much as possible considering the dmg bonus they give is noticeable. And would just have to get used to not spamming attacks when lnl procs and get used to waiting a half second or so to fire the next proc.

As far as MM goes serpent, chimera, aim..mash steady till chimera, aim are back up and repeat...I generally at the start serpent, chimera, aim, hit my steady shot macro so silencing gloves proc and then readiness, chimera/aim again and just continue a rotation.

Honestly the worse thing about LK for hunters is the amount of swappin that takes place which makes bleeds fall which in a stand still fight becomes 2nd/3rd of ur dmg. Other than dps Hunters are really the best utility for the fight considering their tranq/quick burst on orbs (although if chimera/aim are down orbs don't drop as fast), MDs and traps to slow valks if needed or spirits.

We did the strat where we started at the throne and just strafed right for traps. I generally nuked LK and did the electric slide when ever traps appeared and once a shambler was ready to get up I would stop dps for a second or so that way MD wouldn't proc off any wild quivers or bow procs and get the shambler on focus/MD'd to offtank and get my chimera/aim to try and keep my bleeds up before the tranq needed to be done which is usually right after them. From there it's basically just not being a retard and swapping before it casts tranq instead of waiting for the bar to be half way done and have a chance at a melee swing. Transition I took right side orbs which was easy enough unless they all decided to run at me which then our spriest would help by dotting. Valks I dropped traps on LK when needed and soon as the 3rd valk dropped I disengaged south to avoid bad defiles and to also get mine as far out as possible. second transition is the same but just more orbs of course. Last phase/smourne room we had defiles go left and raid go right (some ppl don't know their lefts) and I would drop traps in the middle area of the room for our tank to try and hit to slow spirits. and as far as smourne room goes I just followed the pretty circle and mashed buttons at spirits while trying to killshot low ones.

As of yet I havn't messed up a defile or trap but it's kinda hard to mess them up as a hunter.

We currently use loot council as our Loot System. We switched after Halion H was defeated to answer your above question.

Looking over your LK parse your damage is ~decent. Huge room for improvement.

How do you think you could improve this?

Your damage up time on the boss is where it should be.

So comparing your parse to mine(they are at about equal fight length) I managed to get off around

~~391 GCD's give or take

to your

~~351 GCD's give or take

Fights are 10 seconds apart.

As well my

350 autoshots

to your

311 autos.

How do you think you can Improve upon this? GCD usage is the number one reason most hunter do so badly in this game.

http://www.worldoflogs.com/reports/vq6jdgvzegeq5su0/details/18/?s=388&e=1481

Our parse incase you can't find it.

Being the main person on orbs for right side I rarely used all my GCDs cause using my chimera/aim shot on the raging could cause me to have issues with orbs for 10 second because no chimera/aim = steady spam which isn't great for nuking an orb. Thats probly the main reason for the GCD being low because sometiems I would sit and wait on the orb....I was actually the only hunter who didn't complain about being on orbs instead of having casters lol

As of now I'm looking to either transfer to you guys today or go with my friends (I'll go with u guys if u accept me no problem because it's fucking amazing for my school schedule) I'm not pushing for an answer or anything just letting you know. Thank you and I have no issues with answers questions

If your the main person for orbs how come you never opted to spec into hawk eye. At least that way you can be dpsing Lich King when not shooting orbs and have a higher gcd usage.

I did but they told me not to worry about it

edit: we had our 2 fire mages on LK which is the main reason (don't need more) eventhough they honestly werent able to do much other than cleave orbs with living bomb.
